Reg M-C explained: dates, new Megas and what is legal

Regulation M-C is the Pokémon Champions ruleset for autumn 2026: the one used in official and online tournaments. This is what it brings.

By @9shinny ·

When it runs

Reg M-C started on September 9, 2026 and runs until December 2 (UTC). It is the ruleset for the autumn Regionals, starting with Baltimore, and for the Latin America International on November 20-22.

The six new Megas

Six Mega Evolutions arrive. Three are the first Z Megas, alternative Mega forms with different stats and abilities: Mega Absol Z (with Sharpness), Mega Garchomp Z (with Levitate) and Mega Lucario Z. The other three are Mega Salamence, Mega Golisopod and Mega Baxcalibur.

As always, you can bring several Mega Stones on your team, but only one Pokémon can Mega Evolve in each battle.

The Pokémon it adds

About two dozen Pokémon are added (sources give between 24 and 26), including Rillaboom, Baxcalibur, Golisopod, Salamence, Cinderace, Toxtricity, Indeedee and Farfetch'd. Nothing is removed: everything legal in Reg M-B is still legal.

How the meta has changed

Rillaboom, Salamence and Sneasler made a strong entrance from day one, and weather teams have won every Regional: sand in Baltimore, sun in Recife and Louisville and rain in Nice. We cover it in the season review.

The numbers change every week: the meta page has the usage and adjusted win rate of every Pokémon in Reg M-C tournaments, kept up to date.
