How the team plays

Floette-Eternal (Mega) is the team's special attacker: Modest with Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam and Light of Ruin behind Protect, at 192 Special Attack. It also runs Charizard (Mega Y) as an alternative Mega: only one can Mega Evolve per battle.

Indeedee sets Psychic Terrain on entry.

Charizard (Mega Y) sets sun when it Mega Evolves.

Whimsicott sets Tailwind so the team moves first. Indeedee carries Trick Room as the plan against fast opponents. Whimsicott is the fastest at 149 Speed, followed by Floette-Eternal (Mega) at 122.

Indeedee is the spread attacker: Expanding Force and Hyper Voice hit both foes at once.

Whimsicott's Babiri Berry covers the Steel hit it would otherwise lose to.

The Ice and Poison weaknesses are unresolved: Garchomp takes 4× from Ice and Whimsicott takes 4× from Poison.

The spreads are the generic 32/32 ones and have not been tuned to specific benchmarks.

Team by Carson Jones, who took it to VR October Challenge #3 (4th).

We build each spread against the most used Pokémon in the meta and around its teammates: the Speed that pays off most (counting the team's Tailwind or Trick Room) and just enough bulk to survive one or two hits from the threats no other member already handles, with the rest into attack. It's an estimate on the Pokémon Champions scale (0–32 per stat, 66 in total), because players don't publish their real spreads.
